Case Study Portfolio

Case studies show how your product or service solves the problems of potential clients – who may not, themselves, be experts in what you do.

When I was in Chinese media, I conducted interviews with representatives from many different industries to share their stories with general audiences:

  • international companies at the Shanghai International Import Expo 2019 and 2020

  • international companies working in China during the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdowns

  • rural development in China, including how livestreaming and e-commerce make sustained development possible

What I love about case studies

I love the power of story in case studies, transforming anecdotes and data into usable material:

  • A case study makes a potential customer say, “Yeah! That could be me too!” They identify with the story.

  • A case study brings forward material for your content writers. They can back up your blog posts and social media content with hard facts – connected to a story.

  • Case studies provide your executives with fresh material to back up the larger story they tell to customers and investors. What do thought leaders have? Darn good stories.

This story about a water purification company actually led one of my colleagues and the editor in chief to buy purification systems from this company. (The company gave us a discount, too!)
